Palma springs back to life

Palma is slowly springing back to life with residents enjoying the restaurant terraces and getting outside for exercise.

The Balearic Islands were one of the first Spanish regions to move onto phase one of Spain?s reopening plan. From May 11, businesses across all of the Balearic Islands have slowly started to reopen with restaurants, bars and terraces being able to open at half capacity.

It was announced on May 15 that all Spanish regions (except for Madrid, Barcelona and some areas of Castile and Le?n) have now progressed to stage one of Spain?s reopening plan while the islands of Formentera, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Graciosa are able to initiate stage two.

Pedro Homar, manager of the Palma Tourism Board, said: ?This situation has brought our community even closer and it?s incredibly uplifting to enjoy the city?s hustle-bustle once more while following the guidelines. We are now preparing for tourism to be reinstated as soon as possible.?
