?Oz on Tour?: October training events with Tourism Australia

Tourism Australia?s ?Oz on Tour? roadshow will be visiting agents in five cities next month with training sessions dedicated to travel within Australia.

The events are scheduled to take place in: Bristol on October 4 at the M Shed/ Bristol Museum & Art Gallery; Birmingham on October 5 at the Electric Cinema; Brighton on October 6 at Dukes at Komedia (Picturehouse); Liverpool on October 12 at Picturehouse at Fact; and in Manchester on October 13 at the SeaLife Aquarium.

Each event begins at 18:00 and finishes for 22:00. Agents can come along and learn more about the destination, enjoy some food and wine, with the chance to win return flights to Australia with Singapore Airlines.

Meanwhile the tourism organisation has also reported that it?s agent training platform, the Aussie Specialist Program (ASP), has seen a 33% increase in registered agents in the last 12 month period to June 2016 taking the total number of registered agents to 3,445. Revamped last year, the site now includes an interactive map, itinerary builder, fact sheets and a Travel Club where agents can get discounted Australian tourism experiences and product. 100% of agents also reported feeling more confident in selling Australia having completed the first three modules of the ASP.

Denise von Wald, regional general manager UK for Tourism Australia, said: ?Front line agents are really valuable when it comes to converting consumer interest in Australia in to bookings, so it?s pleasing to see we?re better equipping them to sell Australia confidently. As well as our improved Aussie Specialist Program, we also employ a dedicated trainer who runs face-to-face training sessions and webinars which we invite agents to take advantage of.?
