The Maldivian resort has unveiled a shoal of eco-inspired experiences and events to celebrate World Ocean Day 2023.
Nova Maldives has crafted an agenda to build interest and awareness among guests and team members, from marine life talks to sustainable initiatives, on World Ocean Day, on June 8th, 2023.
The celebrations will begin with a lagoon and house reef clean-up around the island, collecting any plastic and debris for recycling.
Guests will be invited to Nova's coral adoption programme to learn about coral reef restoration and rehabilitation and the environmental threats facing the tropic archipelago. The programme includes the chance to plant corals around the reef and adopt one.
An awareness session will also take place, with Hamna Hussain, co-founder of Miyaru, providing insight on how the non-profit is working at the intersection of human and sharks.
