Wightlink Ferries has introduced a new foot passenger family rate on its fast Catamaran service from Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde, where families can now hop over to the Island for a day trip for ?45.
The ticket is valid for a family group of up to five people (minimum one adult and maximum two adults in the group), making a return day trip from ?9 per person*.
Alternatively, foot passengers can travel from Portsmouth to Fishbourne or Lymington to Yarmouth for a slightly longer journey of 40 minutes at ?37.50 for a day trip.
Alongside the new rates, the company has introduced a new section to its website that highlights the range of things to do in a day ? see www.wightlink.co.uk/daytrips - of which some can be reached on foot or by bike (foot passengers can take bikes on board the ferries at no additional cost) and others can be reached by the Island?s public transport network.
