Florida Keys offers new self-contained accommodation options

As interest grows in self-contained stays since the pandemic, Florida Keys is now offering upgrades to accommodation options, including villas, cottages and suites that allow for social distancing.

With the news of COVID-19 vaccines, demand for Florida Keys travel is growing, according to Emma Cashmore, the UK destination director for the Florida Keys tourism council: ?Bookings are picking up and we expect the Keys to benefit with more upscale self-contained accommodation, which travel experts believe will be a big trend in 2021 and beyond,? 

Highlights of the new offerings include:

The Casitas at Cheeca Lodge: a 214-room, 27-acre oceanfront resort that has recently acquired 10 private villas with butler service, one- and two-bedroom units, resort or ocean views, large furnished porches and full kitchens and bathrooms. Guests will have access to all the resort's amenities with a private beach, pool and tennis courts. Prices start at US$1,099 per night.

Islands of Islamorada: set amid over seven acres on Upper Matecumbe Key, Islands of Islamorada is a new 30-unit enclave comprised of 22 three-story waterfront villas and eight one-bedroom suites. Each villa has four bedrooms, full kitchens and outdoor recreation space, accommodating eight to 10 guests. Minimum three-night stays are required, with villas from US$1,700 per night and suites from US$600 per night. 

Riley House on Caroline Street: the former estate of a wealthy industrialist, the 1800s Victorian property boasts 23 guestrooms spread across three historic homes with private porches. Opening in the first quarter of 2021, the prices start at US$335 per room per night.
