Opened on May 30, the new airport is located 20 minutes away from the resort. Ryanair?s plans to launch flights to Comiso from August will also make the resort more accessible. The airline will initially operate a total of ten flights weekly from Stansted, Rome Ciampino and Brussels Charleroi, with fares starting from ?30.99 (approximately ?26).

The new services, which are currently on sale until March 2014, are forecast to deliver more than 150,000 passengers per year into the region, with more routes and airlines anticipated to follow in the near future.

The resort, which is located in the town of Ragusa, offers two 18-hole golf courses ? the Links Course and the Gary Player-designed Parkland Course ? with the latter being used to stage the 2011 Sicilian Open. Other facilities include a spa and wellness centre, swimming pools and three restaurants.
