Katie Blunt Midcounties Co operative

Midcounties Co-operative appoints Katie Blunt as brand and marketing manager

Midcounties Co-operative has appointed Katie Blunt to the position of brand and marketing manager for the Travel group.

Blunt will lead on branding and marketing initiatives for Co-operative Travel, which has 58 high street travel agencies located across England?s mid counties, from Nottinghamshire down to Somerset.

She said: ?I?m delighted to be joining Midcounties Co-operatives? Travel group at such an exciting time, working with a hugely talented and experienced team.

?Our brand proposition is unique, we not only offer knowledge and expertise but also relevant, desirable and affordable destinations that give back to the communities we trade in. Our Co-op brand strengthens our story ensuring our customers want to travel with us over any other travel agency.?

?We?re on an exciting journey of brand growth not just as a travel business but as an independent co-operative society. I?m looking forward to working with the team and our suppliers to ensure Midcounties Co-operative fulfils its ambitions and potential, making a real difference for our members and the communities we serve. I?ll be addressing not just the current customer and member needs but also the future aspirations of the Co-operative Travel brand.

?We will deepen the connection and emotion with our customers and members and tell our Co-op story, making it easy for customers and members to understand in a way that's consistent with the other Midcounties Co-operative trading groups. Really understanding our customer needs and combining this with the right commercial products and supplier onboarding and mixing with creative campaigns and content are fundamental to achieving growth.

?I am looking forward to working with the brand leaders for each trading business and our marketing and PR partners in order to continue growing our marketing presence in 2020 and beyond.?

Blunt has moved to Midcounties Co-operative from her role as marketing communications manager for Central England Co-operative, where for the last five years, she led and created society campaigns and developed food marketing for 265 retail stores, including new store launches and developments.
