The Fairfield by Marriott Copenhagen Nordhavn marks Marriott Bonvoys second-largest brands debut in Europe, joining over 1,290 hotels worldwide with 450 in the pipeline across the globe.
17 hotels in that 450-strong are penned to open across Europe and the Middle East: the latest addition, in the Danish capital, will host 222 guestrooms (20 with sea views), all hoping to capture the essence of the much-beloved sense of 'hygge'.
Sandra Schulze-Potgeiter, VP of Premium & Select Brands, EMEA, said the property represents "a significant step in the strategic growth of this brand and our upper midscale portfolio," adding: "I can think of no better destination to debut the brand and its European design aesthetic to our guests and members than in the coastal city of Copenhagen, which truly embodies modern Scandinavian culture and design."
Århusgadekvarteret, where the property is located, is a favoured coastal hub of creativity, built on unique architecture, design, restaurants, and cafés. The North Harbour has made headlines recently as one of Europe's most expansive urban development projects, designed to be a fully sustainable and energy carbon-neutral area founded on the 'five-minute city' principle.
