Malta is now open to British tourists

Malta Tourism Authority has updated all necessary information to visit Malta as it is now open for British tourists from July 15.

Following the easing of quarantine restrictions, Britons can once again enjoy the island?s rich culture, history, landmarks, and beautiful scenery.

The Mediterranean islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino are welcoming back British holidaymakers, to immerse themselves in the island?s rich history, Michelin star gastronomy scene and world-class diving sites. Those who head to the archipelago will find restaurants, accommodation and tourist attractions displaying ?Certified Compliant? badges attesting to their safety and hygiene protocols, while music-lovers can enjoy international acts at festivals in social distance surroundings.

Malta is ensuring more frequent cleaning of public amenities, and 2m distance between sunbeds and umbrellas. Visitors will be asked to wear a facemask or visor in certain locations or indoor places where 2 metre social distancing cannot be followed. Public transport in Malta and Gozo is operating normally, while accommodation and dining providers are strictly complying with Maltese government guidelines and have removed buffets and self-service counter dining models. Travellers are encouraged to follow the current Foreign & Commonwealth Office advice in place for the UK.

Meanwhile, Malta International Airport has introduced a range of guidelines to ensure ease and safety when travelling. A team of specially trained front-liners, wearing blue high-visibility vests for easy identification, will be aiding guests despite any new changes.

Heritage Malta, with the support of the Malta Tourism Authority, has created a short four-part series titled Taste History, which celebrates, discusses, and recreates historical Maltese recipes researched from artifacts, documents and paintings from across the archipelago and viewers can recreate dishes from Malta?s past. The first Season of Taste History is aired weekly and is available to view anytime on www.Facebook.com/TasteHistoryMalta

The Virtual Museum - Underwater Malta website is now live. Visitors to the site will submerge themselves into Malta?s azure sea to discover archaeological sites such as sunken World War II aircrafts and a shipwreck dating back to the Phoenician period, previously only accessible to experienced divers.
