Malaysia Airlines launches new economy class fare options

Malaysia Airlines has launched three new economy flexible fare options so agents can give their clients more options as travel uncertainty continues. Meanwhile, the Malaysian national carrier will be starting Kuala Lumpur flights on July 5

Passengers flying with the national carrier will be able to choose between Economy Lite, Economy Basic and Economy Flex (excluding routes from Malaysia to Japan, and Japan to Malaysia, Jeddah and Madinah), depending on the facilities made available to them, such as baggage allowance, options for rebooking, seat selection and priority services, for differing rates.

While Economy Basic allows clients some basic Malaysia Airlines? benefits, such as 20kg cargo luggage, 7kg cabin baggage, complementary meals, and the option to rebook their flight for a standard fee, Economy Lite reduces the basic ticket price by ?22, for those who need to travel light, with 7kg cabin baggage and complementary meals.

Economy Flex grants passengers all basic economy benefits, in addition to a free refund, an additional 15kg of checked in luggage, pre-flight seat selection, priority check-in, priority boarding, and priority baggage collection for a maximum of ?48, on the basic Economy fare.

Agents will be able to rebook tickets without any extra cost to clients (aside from any difference in the fare), and the choice to board an earlier flight on the same day, along with a 50% off on a ?neighbour-free seat? and a 10% discount on the cost of their next flight, if booked at www.malaysiaairlines.com.

Daniel Bainbridge, Malaysia Airlines? regional manager for the UK & Europe said: ?Malaysia Airlines recognises that the COVID-19 pandemic will change the way people travel. In light of this, we are proud to announce our new economy class fare options which give passengers the flexibility to choose features according to their individual needs and situation, while booking. As London to Kuala Lumpur flights will be re-starting on July 5, we look forward to welcoming passengers back on board. We hope that this announcement provides some peace of mind to regular travellers, and offers an incentive to those who don?t- to fly with Malaysia Airlines.?
