Live the sweet life as Italy's first luxury train opens bookings

Bookings are now open for La Dolce Vita Orient Express which will commence its journeys in spring 2025, offering itineraries with immersive excursions from the north to the south of the country.

The new travel offering promises guests an unparalleled journey in opulence inspired by the 1960s and 70s through the Italian landscape. Eight one-to-two-night itineraries are on offer, featuring visits to lakes, forests, coastlines and mountains as well as a chance to immerse into the city centres of Milan, Florence, Venice and Rome.

The itineraries also include access to difficult-to-reach destinations such as Matera in Basilicata, the third oldest city in the world, and Palena, a mountainous village in Abruzzo. One itinerary features a trip on the world’s first passenger rail ferry, granting access to the island of Sicily.

Samy Ghachem, general manager of La Dolce Vita Orient Express, said: “It is a privilege to join La Dolce Vita Orient Express at this key period in the revival of the iconic Orient Express brand and the launch of Italy’s first foray into luxury rail hospitality.

“La Dolce Vita Orient Express is set to offer an inimitable take on luxury rail travel, reigniting a bygone era through a contemporary lens, Italian style.”

Reservations can be made here, with prices starting from €3,500 per person for a one-night itinerary in a deluxe cabin.
