LATAM Airlines Group, operating across five continents, has landed at Ben Gurion Tel Aviv Airport for the first time, marking the start of its service from Santiago de Chile via S?o Paulo/Guarulhos to Tel Aviv.
The new route, with three weekly flights, is the first and only route providing direct flights between Latin America and Israel.
Through the airline's network, Israeli passengers now have access to more than 120 destinations in Latin America, including Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Paraguay. The airline company will fly Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, offering 213 seats in Economy and 30 seats in Premium Business.
Rodrigo Contreras Brain, the airline's director general - Europe, said: ?We are pleased to launch our first direct flight to Tel Aviv, which also marks LATAM?s presence in five continents. Our aim is to continue expanding our routes between main European cities to develop connectivity with Latin America and improving access to the most desirable destinations in the world.?
Yariv Levin, minister of tourism, Israel, said: "LATAM Airlines? arrival in Israel with this new route, not only increases capacity and connectivity but is also an expression of the faith and belief in Israel?s tourism potential, as the increase in Latin American tourists to our country has proven.
