Spains La Manga Club has launched a new tournament, the La Manga Club Cup, giving players the chance to get some competitive practice after the end of the UK season.

The five-star resort?s 28-court tennis centre will host the new event from October 18-21, with categories from under-tens up to adults and open doubles contests for both men and women.

The clay competition offers LTA ranking points as well as a range of prizes including tennis and lifestyle breaks and Babolat equipment.

Entry costs ?20 for the adult events, ?15 for junior competitions and ?8 per player for doubles. Accommodation in the fully serviced Las Lomas Village apartments is available from ?43 per person per night ? based on six people sharing a three-bedroom apartment ? or competitors can stay in the five-star Hotel La Manga Club Principe Felipe for ?90 per person per night.

A special offer for competitors means those booking four nights at the resort will get an extra night free, while those staying five nights will receive an additional two free nights.

Guests will also?receive ?100 worth of resort credit; free access to the spa's saunas, steam rooms, indoor pool and gym; and free transportation within the resort.

Competitors staying for five nights or more also get a free place at the tournament barbeque on October 19 ? which usually costs ?40 for adults and ?15 for children ? and adults can also opt to take part in a pre-tournament training camp on October 15, giving expert tuition with one coach to every four players, for ??200.
