The surge in bookings for flights and package holidays comes as destinations prepare to welcome back UK visitors this summer.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have reported a spike in sales as bookings to Turkey following the nation's tourism minister confirming that UK holidaymakers will be welcomed back this summer.
In response, Jet2.com has put over 100 extra flights to Turkey on sale, to give customers and agents more choice and flexibility when booking their flights with Jet2.com and holidays with Jet2holidays.
Flight capacity to Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman from late June to late October has increased, notably during the late summer season.
Overall, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have seen a 1000% spike in bookings following the exit plan from lockdown was announced and foreign travel restrictions were revealed to be reviewed in May this year.
Steve Heapy, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays' CEO, commented: ?Turkey has continued to be a popular choice, and the welcome news that UK holidaymakers can enjoy the Turkish sunshine this summer has translated into an immediate rush of bookings. Once again, customers are telling us that they want to get away, and once again we are quick to respond to that ? giving customers and independent travel agents even more choice when it comes to getting away on a real package holiday. We know our customers want to get away and we know that our destinations are keen to welcome them. The UK government has shown that there is a clear ambition to reopen international travel in the coming months and we look forward to more detail in due course."
