The expansion comes after the country was added to the UKs green list for travel from May 17, 2021.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have responded to increase demand for holidays to Portugal this summer by increasing its schedule to Faro (Algarve) and Funchal (Madeira) this summer.
After Portugal was added to the green list for UK travel, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have seen a 600% increase in bookings in the 24-hour period after the announcement: over 1,300% week-on-week.
To respond to this demand, the airport and package provider have added the following services to Faro (Algarve):
Weekly Saturday services from Birmingham from July 3 to July 17, 2021, Monday and Friday services from Bristol from July 2, 2021, weekly Sunday services from Glasgow from June 27 to August 8, 2021, weekly Tuesday services from Edinburgh from June 29 to August 31, 2021, weekly Tuesday services from Newcastle from June 29 to July 20, 2021.
The following services have been added to Funchal (Madeira):
Weekly Saturday services from Manchester from July 3 to August 28, 2021, and weekly Friday services from London Stansted from July 2 to September 24, 2021.
Flights and holidays will operate to Faro from all 10 of Jet2's UK bases, with Madeira operating from nine.
