Israel lifts PCR requirement for arriving travellers

The Ministry of Health confirms it is dropping its final Covid-19 curbs with the removal of PCR tests upon arrival.

Under new guidance from the Ministry of Health and the Airports Authority, Israel has confirmed it is ending the requirement of a PCR test upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport from May 20, 2022.

From May 10, 2022, guests flying to Israel will also be allowed to take an antigen test before boarding rather than the previously required PCR test, with the test taken up to 24 hours prior to departure.

Sharon Ehrlich Bershadsky, director, Israel Government Tourist office in London said: "As consumer confidence grows in line with restrictions easing, it was important that we made the entry process as simple as possible for travellers whilst keeping health and safety a top priority. We are hopeful that the easing of on-arrival PCR tests will help encourage tourists to put Israel on their holiday lists this year.?
