Icelandair announces winter 23/24 schedule with a 25% capacity increase

Operational from October, the airline will fly to 36 destinations this winter, while boasting a 20-25% increase in capacity.

Flights to a number of destinations have been increased following high customer demand, including an uplift in services to Boston and New York, taking the total weekly flights to 11 and 21 respectively, as well as the addition of daily flights to Chicago, Minneapolis and Munich.

Due to popular demand, the winter schedule will also see the integration of the previously seasonal destinations Rome, Barcelona, Baltimore and Vancouver being upgraded to year-round services.

Icelandair chief revenue officer, Tomas Ingason, said: “Due to strong customer demand, we are now introducing our most extensive winter schedule to date. We have been able to extend previously seasonal routes to year-round services and increase frequencies on other routes throughout the network for the winter 23/24 season.
