HX channels its Norwegian values with new itinerary

Launching at the peak of the aurora season, the new Northern Norway itinerary will spend seven nights entirely above the Arctic Circle.

Inspired by the Norwegian concept of Friluftsliv: meaning ‘free air life’ which embodies the Norwegian value of spending time in nature, the ‘Ultimate Norway – Arctic Expedition Under the Northern Lights’ will explore four regions in the north of the country, including the Lyngen Alps, Senja, Lofoten and Vesterålen.

Alex McNeil, SVP Expeditions Product and Guest Experiences, highlighted how the company’s “Norwegian heritage remains” even after its destination offering has evolved over the last 128 years of service: “We’re excited to unveil this unparalleled adventure that honours our roots and highlights our expertise in expedition today.”

Offering 10 departures through January to March 2026, the round-trip cruise from Tromsø promises a completely all-inclusive experience for guests aboard the MS Spitsbergen.

Guests will immerse deep into Norwegian culture and explore the spectacular landscapes through three bespoke experiences including a bonfire under the starry night, an exclusive evening at the Huritgruten Museum, and a traditional Scandi sauna session followed by a polar plunge.

The itineraries also include activities such as kayaking, whale watching, nature walks, alpine treks, snowshoeing, community visits and ski touring.
