The new cruising company will start cruises along the Norwegian coast on August 24, 2021.
Havila Voyages, the Norwegian-based cruising company, has announced that its first two ships will commence sailings from August 2021, with the Havila Capella cruising along the Norwegian coast from August 24, 2021, and the Havila Castor joining a week later on August 30, 2021.
Upon their launch, the two ships will be the most eco-friendly ships sailing the Norwegian coastal route, featuring the world's largest battery packs. These packs will allow the ships to sail through fjords and other difficult areas for up to four hours at a time, quietly and emission free. This, along with other green measures, cuts the ship's carbon footprint by around 25%.
Two further ships (Havila Polaris and Havila Pollux) are set to join the fleet in 2022.
Sailing from Bergen to Kirkenes, the cruise ship's fleet will operate as part of a ten-year contract with the Norwegian government. The twelve-day return voyage calls at 34 different ports, sailing through narrow fjords and open seas, and high up into the Arctic Circle.

Hosting 179 spacious cabins, the new ships showcase a unique culinary experience, reflecting Norway's gastronomic history and using local produce throughout.
Spaces on the cruise start from ?241 per person for a two-day trip from Trondheim to Bergen on a cabin-only basis. Six-day voyages from Kirkenes to Bergen start from ?497 per person, with the twelve-day round trip starting from ?829 on a full-board basis.
