Greece opens borders for British travellers

Greece has opened its borders for British travellers with direct flights between the two countries resuming today.

The first GIC The Villa Collection and Sunvil passenger flight from LGW to Lemnos departs tomorrow, with weekly flights to Preveza, Crete, Corfu, Lemnos and Skiathos over the summer season and departures from London Gatwick, Manchester or Stansted, depending on the route.

The Greek government has put forward a few conditions for the travellers though, which includes a Passenger Location Form to be completed online at least 24 hours prior to travel. Visitors will receive a generated code on completion to show on arrival, along with a simple swab test at the airport. on arrival. Greek government guidelines include social distancing of 1.5m in shops, use of contactless card payments, and compulsory masks on public transport.

The Minister of Tourism has confirmed that any visitor who falls ill will be looked after by the Greek health system without any additional costs.
