Finnair to launch flights to Beijing Daxing International Airport from November

UK flyers from London Heathrow can soon enjoy quick connections to China with Finnair as the airline is launching flights to Beijings new airport - Taxing International Airport from  Helsinki this November.

Finnair?s flights will operate three times a week to Beijing Daxing from November 3 in addition to its existing daily flights to Beijing Capital Airport, taking the total flights up to 10 every week to the Chinese capital. Passengers can fly to Daxing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays on Airbus A330 aircraft.

The Finnish carrier operates to seven destinations in Greater China. Also, this spring the airline announced code share collaborations with Juneyao Airlines and with China Southern, which brought 13 new Chinese destinations to the airline?s customers.

Ole Orv?r, chief commercial officer for the airline, said: ?With the new flights, we are proud to offer even better connections between Beijing and our 100 destinations in Europe. Our aim is to grow sustainably in China, which is among our top global markets. The new Beijing Daxing International Airport is a key hub for international travel to and from China and will serve our customers well. We are grateful for the support and collaboration from both authorities and our partners in opening the new Daxing flights.?

The new flights from Daxing have been timed to connect smoothly onto the airline's network of over 100 destinations in Europe, allowing travellers short flight times and convenient transfers via Helsinki.

The new Beijing Daxing International Airport, once complete, will boast seven runways and handle up to 100 million passengers per year. Its hexagonal design ensures no passenger will be more than eight minutes away from the farthest airport gate.
