To celebrate a bumper year of expansions in 2025, the new route will see the Finnish airline serve the northern town of Kirkenes while enhancing operations throughout Europe, Asia and the US.
From April 1st, 2025, Finnair will add the Norwegian town of Kirkenes to its roster, becoming the airline’s most-northerly gateway. Flights between Helsinki and Kirkenes will operate thrice weekly during the summer season.
Anssi Partanen, Finnair marketing director Europe, stated that Kirenese is “one of Norway’s best-kept secrets” and that Finnair is looking forward to “opening the region up to customers across the world.”
In other news for the airline, services to Japan will also receive a boost for summer 2025, with daily flights being added to the both Tokyo Haneda and Tokyo Narita. The airline’s latest route to Nagoya, set to take to the skies this summer, will also gain another weekly service in 2025.
Across Europe, Finnair has also added flights to its most popular destinations, including Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius. In the US, daily flights to Dallas will become daily by October this year.
