CroisiEurope using greener GTL fuel on its three ships on the Seine

CroisiEuropes three ships on the Seine ? MS Botticelli, MS Seine Princess and MS Renoir ? are now running on gas to liquid (GTL) fuel.

GTL fuel is considered to be cleaner than off-road diesel and it doesn?t produce smoke or an unpleasant smell.

The river cruise line is now keen to introduce GTL fuel on its remaining fleet in France and is currently working on how to best supply its ships on the Loire, the Rhone and the Gironde.

Patrick Schmitter, co-owner of CroisiEurope, said: ?We are committed to doing our utmost to constantly reduce our environmental impact. This is why we are very proud to announce the use of this new fuel, which is a safe product and classified as rapidly biodegradable. Its use significantly reduces air pollutant emissions.?

The company implemented several other environmental measures such as using only electric buses in Paris, installing water savers on all the boats and equipping all vessels with systems to dispose of wastewater in the urban sewerage network or water treatment stations.

Also, it used paint comprising non-polluting components on the undersides of all ships and fitted out them with Greenship label engines that meet European standards in terms of pollution control. Further, CroisiEurope is using biodegradable cleaning products.
