Co-op Travel Consortium to host two-day virtual conference

The event, taking place from November 18-19, replaced the scheduled Ibiza gathering which has been postponed to October 2021. 

Midcounties Co-operative's CEO, Phil Ponsonby, Travel Group CEO, Rad Sofronijevic, and head of Co-op Travel Consortium, Alison Holmes, will begin the conference with a business update and will conclude with a Q&A with consortium members, who will be invited to ask questions. Co-op's in house tour operator, Co-op Holidays, will also present an update to agents.

Other panels consisting of Alan Cross from Jet2Holidays, Brad Bennetts from easyJet Holidays, Nick Hughes from GoldMedal/Travel2 and Alistair Rowland of Blue Bay Travel will also be taking place across the two-day period. 

Alison Holmes, head of Co-op Travel Consortium is "looking forward to getting our consortium members together... after what's been a gruelling seven months for them. Our aim is to help them look to a bright future, seek out the positives and maximise the opportunities as they arise."

The conference will also showcase several workshops, including tutorials on social media marketing, accounts payable and a technological tutorial delivered by Chris North of  Vertical Systems; all workshops are intended to help maximise on the travel bounce-back when it comes. Holmes added: "with the might of the wider Midcounties Co-operative society behind us, our consortium members are well placed to ride out the storm... we?re here to support them and ensure they thrive in the future."
