CAYO Exclusive Resort and Spa opens its doors to guests tomorrow

CAYO Exclusive Resort and Spa, on the Greek island of Crete opens tomorrow.

The property has four restaurants, stylish rooms, suites and villas with private plunge pools and views of Spinalonga Island. The hotel is close to Elounda Bay and the village of Plaka, which is known for its boutiques, traditional tavernas and beach.

Produce for the restaurants is mostly local or sourced from an eco-friendly farm, with a mix of authentic Greek and modern Mediterranean dishes created by Chef Lefteris Lazarou. The spa offers a range of ancient and modern treatments and its fitness centre offers yoga, pilates and detox therapies, as well as a steam, sauna and relaxation pool. The therapists can consult with guests to devise self-improvement programmes to suit the guests lifestyle choices and goals.

The terraced architecture of the property blends into the mountainous landscape and uses renewable energy. Italian designer Gian Paolo Venier has blended cool greys, soft blues and greens with brushed marble, chic glass and stone to reflect the historical architecture of the ancient city of Olous, which is in the area.
