Carnival doubles up Down Under for 2026/2027

The cruise line will operate four ships across the region for the 2026/2027 season

Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter will join Carnival Splendor and Carnival Luminosa in Australia where they will sail via Sydney and Brisbane.

Voyages will visit destinations such as Moreton Island, the South Pacific and the Great Barrier Reef, before heading over to New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

Carnival Splendor will operate itineraries ranging from two to 12 days, with four-day cruises to Moreton Island and five- and six-day cruises to Tasmania. Additionally, the vessel will offer longer itineraries through the South Pacific with calls to Mystery Island, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

Carnival Adventure will sail from Sydney on two to 12-day itineraries, paying visits to Moreton Island and the Great Barrier Reef. Both Carnival Splendor and Carnival Adventure will also offer cruises to Melbourne for the Melbourne Cup.

Carnival Luminosa will depart from Brisbane on a variety of three to 14-day sailings, including a six-day Great Barrier Reef voyage via Airlie Beach and Cairns. A 14-day ‘Carnival Journeys’ cruise is also available which highlights the locations where Mutiny of the Bounty took place in 1789, including Norfolk Island and Nuku’alofa, Tonga.

Carnival Encounter will sail from Brisbane with stops at destinations in the South Pacific and Great Barrier Reef regions across voyages lasting from three to 14 days.

Fred Stein, vice president of itinerary planning at Carnival, said, “As we expand our fleet to four ships in Australia and enrich our overall deployment plan, our 2026/27 itineraries significantly increase the options available for the Carnival experience from Sydney and Brisbane.”
