Flight bookings from foreign arrivals between Christmas and New Years Eve have risen by 9.1% on 2022s numbers, comprising 62,808 seats booked.
Up from 57,550 in the period leading up to New Year's Eve in 2022, the growth is testament to the Brazilian tourism board Embratur's strategy on diversifying product and broadening offerings for North American, British and European tour operators.
Embratur's president, Marcelo Freixo, said: "Tourism is a way of selling the image of Brazil abroad, but of a Brazil that exists and that we want for ourselves. Tourism has to be good for the regions visited. And when you look at what international tourists want, this is it.
"They want a more sustainable trip, a well-maintained destination and to learn from the history and culture of the places they visit."
At WTM, Embratur confirmed there is no signs of slowing its activity, announcing a new Virgin Atlantic service between Heathrow and Guarulhos taking flight in May 2024.
