Nassau, the capital of the islands, is a 50-minute flight from Miami and 90 minutes from Orlando, so the Bahamas is an ideal destination to visit following a trip to Disney World.

With a range of spa treatments, beaches and duty-free shopping available in the Bahamas, guests can stay at a number of resorts, including the Atlantis Paradise Island, which features a waterpark.

Alternatively, guests can have their own private hideaway on one of the Out Islands. Travelling direct from Florida, they will have a choice of commercial or private flights or, to see more along the way, they will be able to cross the Gulf Stream by boat.

Examples of twin-centre breaks include a ten-night trip to Miami and the Bahamas from Funway, staying at the four-star Sonesta Bayfront Hotel Coconut Grove in Miami for three nights and then the Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island in the Bahamas for seven nights. Prices lead in at ?1,899 per person based on a September 13 departure.

Alternatively, for those wanting to combine their trip to the Bahamas with a visit to New York, the operator offers three nights at the four-star W New York followed by seven nights at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island. The ten-night break costs from ?2,089 per person and is based on a November 21 departure. Both prices include flights with American Airlines.
