Aurora Expeditions has announced the launch of a series of webinars of which the first one will be on the voyage ?West Greenland Explorer?.
?West Greenland Explorer? is a new itinerary for the inaugural Arctic 2020 programme on board the new ship Greg Mortimer.
The webinar will take place on July 9 and 10 and will be hosted by Bettina Ovgaard, an expert on Greenland. Bettina will share her knowledge of the country's glacial landscapes and its wildlife on both land and sea, as well as her understanding of local traditions, culture and everyday life of the Greenlandic people.
The voyage sets sail on May 18, 2020, when the ?great melt? is underway in the Arctic and nature is abuzz with activity. The plentiful krill at that time of year entices large numbers of whale pods to the region and Aurora's onboard photography masterclasses instruct guests on how best to document them.
The tour operator asked its previous guests where they would most like to travel to next and a poll of over 1,000 passengers clearly indicated that West Greenland would be their most desirable Arctic destination.
The topics covered during the webinar will be: Greenland?s landscapes and wildlife; the difference between East, West & South Greenland; visiting Greenland by sea and land ; Aurora Expeditions? Greenland voyages the soon-to-be-launched Greg Mortimer ship the first passenger ship to use the Ulstein X-BOW technology.
