As the demand for active adventure trips continues to rise, Audley Travel is expanding its product portfolio in three of its top five 2024 destinations – Canada, the US and Japan.
Audley’s Canadian programme will see the addition of a new itinerary inspired by the off-the-beaten-track journey through British Columbia as seen in ‘Fiennes: Return to the Wild’ on the National Geographic Channel.
The tour begins in Vancouver before moving though the Fraser Valley for travellers to try their hand at salmon, trout and sturgeon fishing. Guests will then have the chance to embark on a multi-day kayaking adventure through the Great Bear Rainforest before ending the trip in the small coastal towns of the Sunshine Coast.
The 21-day ‘Into the Wilds British Columbia’ self-drive leads in from £8,930 per person, including flights, accommodation and excursions.
Over in the US, Audley’s latest adventures features the Grand Canyon and Sequoia National Park as the main settings for its new intimate hiking experiences. Guests will gaze upon the awe-inspiring views from the Grand Canyon and discover its mining history as part of the 16-day ‘Best of the Southwest’ itinerary from £5,960 per person.
Across the country, Sequoia National Park offers hikers a different wilderness to admire. Guests will traverse the scenic trails and witness the giant forest up close in the 16-day ‘Active California: LA to San Francisco’ self-drive trip from £4,686 per person.
In Japan, Mount Fuji and Lake Ashi are the backdrop to the new ‘Hakone Hiking Through History’ trek recently added to Audley’s portfolio. A guide will take travellers along the Old Tokaido Road route where they will sample local cuisine and end the day at the Amazake tea house. The trek is included in the 23-day ‘Deluxe Grand Tour of Japan’ itinerary from £20,850 per person.
