With British international travel set to resume as early as May 17, the island has expanded its holiday bubble initiative.
After the steady progress of vaccine rollouts across Britain and international travel set to resume from England as early as May 17, the British-Caribbean islands of Anguilla is expanding its 'holiday bubble' initiative, letting visitors safely enjoy more of the destination upon their arrival.
The initial rules meant 10- to 14-day 'bubble' groups arriving on the island could only access the beach directly in front of their accommodation. With the expansion of the Meads Bay bubble, guests staying at partnering properties can swim, kayak, walk and run the kilometre-long Meads Bay beach that stretches from Frangipani Beach Resort while awaiting the all-clear from their second on-island test.
After expanding the bubble, the island is giving guests even more choice on their holiday - with a number of dining services bookable through the hotels' concierge service, including the participating restaurants of Straw Hat, Blanchards and Blanchards Beach Shack. Partner resort and villa staff can escort in-bubble diners to and from their accommodation or organise suitable transfers.
Guests can also enjoy excursions including golfing, boating, snorkelling and fishing with advance reservations.
After a second negative PCR test result after the 10 or 14 day period, guests can rent vehicles and roam the beach and island at their leisure.
Located on the island's western side, Meads Bay Beach is home to many of Anguilla's popular experiences, from Malliouhana and Four Seasons restaurants to a number of leisure excursions for guests to enjoy.
