Algarve Tourism adopts ?Clean & Safe? stamp to promote recovery

The Algarve Tourism Board has coordinated with Portugal Tourism Board (Turismo de Portugal) and is working on tourism recovery, developing new protocols to guarantee the safety of workers and clients, while minimising the impact of COVID-19.

From April 24, all tourism companies and travel agencies registered by the National Tourism Authority of Portugal (ANT) can request their company stamp ?Clean & Safe?. The stamp is created by Turismo de Portugal to distinguish the guarantee of safety and confidence from those tourist activities that meet all the cleaning and hygiene requirements promulgated by the Portuguese authorities for the prevention of COVID-19 and other infections.

This recognition will be valid for a period of one year and requires the implementation of an internal protocol according to the recommendations of the General Directorate of Health of Portugal, for the necessary sanitation required to avoid risks of contagion, and guarantees the operation of tourist activities in safe conditions.

The ?Clean & Safe? stamp can already be processed through online platforms of Turismo de portugal: National Registrar of Tourist Enterprises (RNET), National Registrar of Agents of Tourist Animation (RNAAT) and National Registrar of Travel Agents (RNAVT) and will always be associated with the entity's registration number.

The Algarve Tourism Board is working on a 'Good Practices - COVID Free' guide applicable to different touristic activities that take place in the region: golf courses, beaches, hotels, restaurants, bars, marinas and recreational ports, car rental companies, water parks and tourist entertainment companies, among others. It will be presented soon to the municipalities, health authorities, security forces and entities responsible for supervising the activity.

Jo?o Fernandes, president of Algarve Tourism Board, said: "In coordination with the Tourism authorities of Portugal, we are making a great effort to implement action protocols that guarantee safety in the destination and allow recovery of the tourist sector.?
