Advantage Travel Partnership welcomes record-breaking trading week

Hot on the heels of a revenue rise of 37% at the turn of the year, sales last week reached an all-time high.

Saturday, January 13th alone saw agents take a 19% share of the week's bookings, with overall bookings up 14% against the same week last year.

Against the previous week, trading spiked 23% in revenue: the average booking value was up 5%.

Despite the rise in booking value, the Partnership's CEO Julia Lo Bue-Said stated that "there are fantastic value deals on offer for all travellers across the product range bookable through travel agents at the moment and we are seeing customers take advantage of this."

Summer 2024 continues to be the top-selling season, taking a 51% share of all bookings.

As with the impressive rise at the turn of the year, the Canary Islands maintained its place at the top-selling list of destinations: up 62% on the same week in 2023. Mainland Spain was the next top-booked destination, with the destination and its surrounding islands accounting for 28% of all bookings made.

Julia emphasised that "warm weather destinations... remain incredibly popular at the moment with many looking to escape the cold and enjoy the sunshine those destinations can offer."

Cruise bookings continue to sail onwards, up 158% against 2023.
