Advantage boss commemorates National Travel Agent Day

Julia Lo Bue-Said, the partnerships CEO, said: "Were really looking forward to seeing the travel industry thrive."

July 22nd marks the fourth annual National Travel Agent Day.

The travel calendar staple, launched by Intrepid Travel in 2020, celebrates and commemorates the service and benefits travel agents have delivered to the UK travel industry since the 19th century.

The Advantage Travel Partnership has voiced its support for agents in the run-up to 2023's celebration, hot on the heels of a major year which saw it grow its membership base by 25%, and a recent survey which revealed that 96% of members are seeing new customer numbers rise.

Julia Lo Bue-Said, the Advantage Travel Partnership's CEO, continued: "For potential disruption to have as minimal impact on travellers as possible we always advise booking with a travel agents. Many people across the UK choose to book their flights and accommodation independently, but by doing so, run the risk that if parts of the holiday are cancelled then they have to make alternative plans."

Looking ahead to 2024, the recent survey also revealed that over recent weeks, around 17% of bookings with Advantage members have been for summer 2024 as consumers seek to get great early deals.
