The survey of 1,000 of the UK?s six-12 year olds, conducted by Monarch, revealed that not being at school came out top for more than a third of children (34%), followed by spending lots of time with the family (27%).
On arrival in the chosen resort, messing around in the water is essential for a successful holiday, with a nice pool (33%), waterslide (18%) and a kids? only pool (9%) topping the list for most important hotel feature according to those surveyed.
Home comforts are key with children with a TV being the most important hotel room item (20%), followed by a comfy bed (18%) and Wi-Fi (15%).
