A roar-some Shearings safari for fans of the Lion King

As the remake of Disneys Lion King roars its way to the top of the box office, Shearings Holidays has launched a new escorted tour that invites holidaymakers to get up close to the wildlife of the African savannah.

The new ten-day 'Safari The Maasai Mara & The Serengeti' tour includes game drives, taking a boat trip across Lake Naivasha looking for hippos, visiting a Maasai village to experience local life and staying in tented safari lodges.

The itinerary takes guests from Maasai Mara in Kenya to the plains of the Serengeti in Tanzania. It comprises many game drives to enjoy at a host of locations including: the Maasi Mara National Reserve; the SerengetiNational Park; inside the crater at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Tarangire National Park.  

Basecamp Maasi Mara is situated along the Talek river in a tropical forest at the doorstep of the Mara National Park, where guests can see birds and monkeys in the trees outside their tents. In the Serengeti, the Acacia Central Camp is set beneath an Acacia tree with great views over the savannah plains.

The tour is priced from ?3409 per person. Tours are available from now until November 2020 and include return flights from Heathrow, eight nights accommodation, eight breakfasts six lunches and six dinners, porterage, seven excursions and services of a tour guide.
