The Personal Travel Consultants in partnership with Blue Bay Travel has celebrated a 42% increase in sales between January and June (against 2023) and has already recruited 15 new homeworking agent members – with its next two training inductions already filled.
Summer sales so far appear to show a strong late-booking market, with 50% of sales made up by late bookings in the last three months against 44% in the same period last year.
Luxury short-haul demand has shown notable growth; the average booking value to Turkey and the Canary Islands has exceeded £6,000 and £4,000, respectively. These values have traditionally been associated with premium long-haul bookings.
Long-haul bookings to the Maldives and Mexico have also proved popular.
PTCs can capitalise on leads provided by Blue Bay Travel, but many are utilising the power of social media to grow their own databases; this tactic has fuelled a 67% boost in year-on-year sales through self-generated leads. Self-generated bookings generate agents 65% in commission and have seen an over £1,300 average value boost against last year (from £3,000 to £4,399).
Abbie Heaton, The Personal Travel Consultants in Partnership with Blue Bay Travel's group manager, described the hard work of homeworkers as "transformative and instrumental," continuing, "It’s an exciting time for the business and is really rewarding to see our consultants reaping the financial rewards of the robust, personal relationships they have built with their clients.
"It’s wonderful to be growing our volume of PTCs too but my top priority remains to nurture our team of high-calibre agents who are committed for the long term. The quality of our consultants contributes significantly to our growth as a business, resulting in high individual performance and increased profit margins."
