Where are Brits going cruise crazy?

Head of marketing Stewart Barnett spotlighted the "growing interest and fascination with cruises" that has been hard to miss since the industry made an impressive post-pandemic recovery.

Land-locked Sutton came top in the search data, with 1,136 per 100,000 residents searching for cruise holidays: 42% more than 10th place Wrexham.

Blackpool came second despite the coast on its doorstep: 'cruise deals' was the fourth-most searched term, suggesting a cautious and budget-minded attitude to cruise consideration.

Southampton's five cruise terminals are clearly impacting locals, with 991 monthly searches for sea-based holidays per 100,000 residents. Norwegian, Carnival and TUI's options topped the search term frequency charts.

Mansfield, 80 miles from the nearest cruise terminal in Hull, came in fourth place with 976 average monthly searches.

Wakefield, home to the most significant sample size in terms of population of any of the top 10, fell just 1 search a month short of Mansfield (975).

A sub-50-minute Northern Rail journey separates sixth place to its nearest port in Liverpool: 971 monthly searches per 100,000 people show cruise demand is making waves in Wigan.

Swansea, Doncaster, Burnley and the aforementioned Wrexham comprised the remainder of the top 10 list, all recording 947 or fewer searches per 100,000 residents monthly.
