Wyndham Hotels & Resorts lend a helping hand in fight against COVID-19

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts staff are coming together to show support for those, who have been greatly impacted by COVID-19

While the pandemic and the subsequent lockdown have hit the travel industry badly, Wyndham Hotels is using this time to extend a hand in different ways across the chain.

The staff have undertaken a range of worthwhile endeavours, such as providing space for the elderly evacuated from nursing homes, or by donating sums of money and medical supplies. Additionally,  they are providing space to healthcare professionals, creating a grocery market for the easy availability of products.

The Ramada properties in Turkey and Portugal opened their doors to healthcare workers and the elderly, while the branches in Kyrgyzstan and Montenegro donated generously to support the underprivileged families, medical workers, law enforcement agents, orphanages, nursing homes and other social facilities at risk.

The general manager of Wyndham Garden Kuta Beach Bali, Indonesia, started the project of building 37 portable water basins, which will enable hand washing in the public places, such as walkways and temples.

When the local hospital near the Ramada Suites in Queenstown, New Zealand, shut down the maternity ward due to COVID-19, the Ramada property offered rooms to expectant mothers, with one giving birth to a baby boy on the premises.

The general manager at Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach property at Florida and his staff put together a grocery market at their property, complete with food products, toiletries and school supplies, to help people living in the Clearwater area with easy access.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts have also launched a new #EverydayHeroes initiative, offering all essential workers during the pandemic, an instant complimentary gold membership upgrade in its loyalty programme, called Wyndham Rewards. Besides healthcare industry workers, the initiative extends to key workers such as delivery drivers, supermarket workers, grocery handlers, hotel staff, warehouse workers and other professions which have seen an increase in normal workloads, brought on by the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The gold membership, valid till 2021, will give its bearer, a host of benefits across all 20 Wyndham brands, and global hotel stays.
