UK Hotels unite to thank ICU Workers

UK hotel industry came together with an initiative ?Night On Us? to thank frontline ICU workers for their work during the coronavirus pandemic.

Established by four travel industry professionals with experience at leading tour operators and luxury hotels, Nights On Us offers two-night hotel breaks for all ICU frontline workers to thank them for their work during the coronavirus pandemic. The idea is to show deep feelings of appreciation and aims to unite the UK hotel industry and create a collaborative message of gratitude, from one industry to another.

Luxury hotels up and down the country are pledging room nights to help support the campaign, with more than 700 nights confirmed so far from leading brands including Z Hotels, Grantley Hall, The Beaumont, Cowdray Estate and Flemings Mayfair. The request from Nights On Us is simple: over the next 12 months, the initiative asks properties to offer out rooms that otherwise would have been unoccupied while the hotel industry slowly returns to normality.

Jacob Pickering, co-founder of Nights On Us, explained: ?We in the luxury travel, hospitality and hotel industries are not in the business of saving lives, we are in the business of enriching them. So it's with that in mind that we think it's only fitting for the industry to unite and offer a light at the end of the tunnel for these frontline workers who have risked their lives during the pandemic."

"Though times are clearly challenging for the hotel sector at present, we think there?s no better time to form a dedicated collective that utilises the incredible compassion that we?ve experienced during our time working with hotels across the world.?

To help spread word that the UK Hotel industry is back open for business, Nights On us have partnered with The Telegraph and The Walpole to help generate content and positive news stories to support the initiative.

Pickering commented: ?We?re working with incredible media partners who are committed to telling the story of the campaign and promoting the hotels that are pledging. This offers hotels across the UK a fantastic opportunity to not only be involved in the biggest ?thank-you,? but also to promote their properties to the audience and increase consumer confidence in the travel industry at the same time.?

Ahead of officially launching, Nights On Us is looking to increase pledges from hotels across the UK. Whether it?s a 20-room boutique in the Scottish Highlands or part of a larger group in the heart of London, no pledge is too small to help spread this message of gratitude and help re-establish the UK hotel industry.
