Visit Central Florida launches its new Travel Specialist Academy and a virtual FAM

Visit Central Florida, Polk County has launched the “Visit Central Florida Travel Specialist Academy” which is offering agents exclusive discounts and upgraded benefits.

Participating agents will also be entered into a draw to win one of the 100 Amazon vouchers, worth £10, along with a Central Florida Specialist Certificate after the completion of the course. 

Before the training programme begins, agents will watch a virtual familiarisation video where tourism industry sales representative Joni Allen will take them on a 20-minute whistle stop tour of some of the best places in Florida.

As a tourist spot, Florida offers many undiscovered attractions and experiences, such as the Westgate River Ranch Resort, the largest dude ranch east of the Mississippi, that offers a host of accommodation options, including luxe tepees as well as a Saturday night championship rodeo. Agents will get to see Bok Tower Gardens, one of the oldest attractions in Florida, Safari Wilderness, as well as some unique experiences, like the U-pick citrus farms, where visitors can join a tour and pick their own fruit.

The video aims to familiarise agents with the region, before moving on to the 40-minute training programme, which will also delivered by Allen. The course covers essential information about the destination and the best picks for tourists, including accommodation, information about the large number of vacation rental homes (7,000), as well as outdoor adventures and eating out places like, Lake life, State, City and County Parks; historic homes, art and culture hotspots as well as sports and entertainment centres.
