Mark Tanzer, ABTA chief executive, told delegates at the associations annual Travel Convention that the collapse of Thomas Cook is a "major event" for the travel industry, affecting not only Thomas Cook employees but also partners and suppliers.

The ABTA Holiday Habits survey, released today in Tokyo at the Travel Convention, contained the encouraging news that millennial (aged 18-24) and Generation Z travellers (aged 18-34) are turning increasingly to travel professionals, such as agents, to book holidays.

In 2018, 697,000 overseas visitors came to the Greater Philadelphia region, of which 112,000 are from the UK, according to a new report from the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB) and Tourism Economics.
