Yorkshire takes the top spot for visitors

Yorkshire is on its way to becoming the UK?s top holiday destination according to latest figures from Welcome to Yorkshire, which works to grow the region?s visitor economy.

The agency, which has exceeded targets reports that the money spent by visitors in Yorkshire increased by 13% last year and says that if this growth continues the region could see an increase of ?744million being spent by visitors for the year.

 

The results also show that Yorkshire was the fastest growing region in attracting UK visitors last year compared to all other regions, with the number of visitors up by 31% during the summer.

Welcome to Yorkshire will be revealing its plans for the remainder of the year at the Y 10 conference on March 22 at Harrogate International Centre.
