Scheduled for November 3, the total solar eclipse will pass over equatorial Gabon, the Congo, Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia. Lake Turkana lies in a volcanic landscape in northern Kenya and offers the best chance of clear skies along the entire eclipse track through Africa.


The eight-night itinerary begins with a stay in luxury thatch villas in the Segera Retreat, overlooking Mount Kenya, where guests can experience game viewing, including walking safaris and evening game drives. From here, guests will travel north to Lake Turkana for the solar eclipse and a journey into the desert. The itinerary culminates with a stay in the newest property in Virgin Group?s Limited Edition portfolio, Mahali Mzuri, where guests can witness herds of elephant, wildebeest and zebra and stay in one of the 12 luxury tents.
