UK & Irish Travellers to benefit from new Kenya e-visa

The Government of Kenya has confirmed the introduction of a new e-visa service for UK and Irish travellers from July 2.

From this date UK and Irish travellers may apply for their Kenya entry visas in advance of arrival in Kenya via the e-visa portal: www.ecitizen.go.ke

There will be a two month transition period until the end of August where visitors have the option to purchase their visa on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, in person at the Kenya High Commission in London and The Kenya Embassy in Dublin or via the online portal.

The e-visa process will become compulsory from September 1 and visitors are advised to register their application well in advance of travel as approvals may take up to seven days to process.

British and Irish nationals need a visa to enter Kenya. The single entry tourist visa to Kenya is current priced at ?30.00 and is valid for three months. The single entry visa allows a re-entry to Kenya from Tanzania and Uganda.
