With many valuable gadgets including?digital cameras, camcorders, mobile and smart phones and laptops not individually insured as in-store policies are considered too expensive with poor levels of cover, the company's research carried out earlier this year revealed that customers travelling for either business or leisure see travel insurance providers as key distributors of gadget insurance and want a specialist product to cover theft, damage and loss.
The cover extends up to ?10,000 per year on a maximum of five products and includes theft, accidental damage, malicious damage, water or liquid damage and mechanical breakdown
Cover is available as an add-on to the company's travel insurance policies valid overseas only or as a standalone product valid at home or away.
