Riviera unveils its European escorted tour programme for 2024

The river cruise company has announced the launch of its full European escorted tour programme for 2024, featuring two brand new departures focusing on rail, alongside two new solo travel options.

The itineraries are available to book from today and cover destinations spanning across Europe for departures between March and November 2024.

‘Discover Italy by Rail – Turin, Venice & Rome’ is one of the two new European tours with landmark rail journeys set for the 2024 roster. Over nine days, guests will tread in the footsteps of the Romans as they are treated to a guided tour of the Colosseum, as well as other walking excursions across Turin and Venice. Signature experiences include a trip on a Venetian gondola, an evening stroll sampling the finest of Italian delicacies in Trastevere, and a local wine and cheese tasting in Frascati. Prices for the tour start at £2,599 per person.

The other brand new tour is ‘Switzerland’s Golden Pass railway, Lake Geneva & Montreux’, where guests will fulfil their childhood dreams and visit a chocolate factory, take in the landscape on a Lake Geneva cruise and ride the Golden Pass Express over the eight-day itinerary. Prices start from £2,799 per person.

In addition to the two rail experiences, Riviera has also added two new-for-2024 tours specifically for solo travellers. The ‘Helsinki, Tallinn & Riga for Solo Travellers’ tour will include five guided adventures to Helsinki, the Suomenlinna Fortress, Kadriorg Palace and gardens, Tallinn and Riga, as well as a visit to Tartu. The eight-day itinerary starts at £1,599 per person.

For those wishing for a longer expedition, the sixteen-day ‘Ecuador & the Galapagos for Solo Travellers’ itinerary includes guided tours of Quito and Cuenca; a boat tour of Academy Island; and visits to Mindo Cloud Forest, El Cajas National Park, Santa Cruz highland reserve, the Charles Darwin Research Station, San Cristobel wildlife conservation centre and a top it all off a trip to a Panama hat factory. Prices start from £5,999 per person.

Joanne Lynn, Riviera Travel’s head of short-haul product, said: “Whether guests want to enjoy the very best of Europe's rail journeys, or immerse themselves in a destination via our dedicated solo itineraries, these new options offer an array of unforgettable experiences.

“Riviera’s full programme of 2024 tours have been curated to accommodate the perfect mix of exploration and relaxation, and with so much included, plus our expert tour managers on hand, we’re confident our wealth of departures offers the ideal getaway.”
