The Bruce Highway, the main road link from Brisbane to Cairns, is open.
Brisbane, the Darling Downs and Capricorn Coast are now recovering with most tourism operations open and affected tourism operations returning to normal as quickly as possible. Parts of Central Queensland, Queensland's Outback, Western Downs and the Lockyer Valley continue to be affected and access to these areas is restricted. People wishing to directly help flood victims can donate to the Queensland Government Flood Assistance Appeal at www.qld.gov.au/floods There has also been some flooding in parts of regional Victoria. The flooding is localised and the vast majority of Melbourne and Victoria are unaffected.
VICTORIA Flood advice
Currently, certain areas of northwest Victoria are experiencing flooding. Flood affected tourism regions and towns include: The Murray ? Kerang and Swan Hill This flooding is localised and the vast majority of Melbourne and Victoria?s regions are unaffected. Open and trading Victoria?s eastern regions ? Gippsland, the Mornington Peninsula, Phillip Island, the High Country and the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges have not experienced flooding.
The Great Ocean Road is open to motorists, and regional townships such as Bendigo, Ballarat and Daylesford are open for business as usual, and are accessible via roads and freeways. Key tourism attractions such as Sovereign Hill, the Phillip Island Penguin Parade, the Twelve Apostles, Puffing Billy and Wilsons Promontory are open and visitors are welcome. Great Ocean Road The Great Ocean Road is open.
The Princes Highway is closed between Ayresford Road and the Great Ocean Road. The Grampians Access between Melbourne and Adelaide is open. Detours are in place and visitors need to allow extra time for this journey.
Roads to Halls Gap are open; however, the Grampians National Park remains closed. The road from Halls Gap to Dunkeld is currently closed. Brambuk National Park and Cultural Centre is open.
The Murray Detours are currently in place for travel between Bendigo and Mildura, and from Bendigo to Swan Hill. The Murray Valley Highway is open with the exception of the stretch between Cohuna and Swan Hill, due to flooding at Kerang. Travelling by road Motorists are advised to check local conditions prior to travel.
