The new tax, which has already been instated in Florence, and will commence in Venice from August 23, is charged at a rate of between ?1 and ?5 per person, per night with the cost dependent on the hotel star rating.
Agents who have customers who are currently confirmed or are planning to book a holiday which includes a Florence or Venice hotel stay with one of the company's brands this year will be exempt from paying the tax.?
