The Tourism Society has appointed Mark Miller MTS as Executive Director.
p>The Tourism Society has appointed Mark Miller MTS as Executive Director.In his new role Mark will be responsible for developing a new strategy and business plan over the next 3 years, looking at potential collaborations with other tourism bodies, increasing membership both in the UK and in overseas markets and reaffirming the Tourism Society as the number one membership body for the tourism industry.
Mark has recently returned from overseas, where he has been for the last twelve years working in South East Asia and the Middle East.
Mark will bring twenty-six years of travel industry experience to the Society, including senior roles within tour operations, travel agency, hospitality, destination management and travel and tourism representation with organisations including VisitBritain, British Airways Holidays, Planet Hollywood and the Mezze Group.
Mark said: "I am delighted to be back in the UK, and to be working for such a prestigious organisation and am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities to further develop and enhance the Society's activities, reputation and, most importantly, benefits to members."
The Society recently announced an integration with the Tourism Management Institute (TMI), starting on January 1st 2010 which Mark will also be overseeing to ensure a stronger body is formed with mutual benefits to both sets of members.
